13th May Monday, by Julia and Zara

Today was the first day for the slovenians to be in English school! When first arriving the slovenians, and everyone else, were invited to the 7th graders birthday party for their teacher who was turning 50. Afterwards they got to hear some music from Julia, Evelina and Scott. Then they all got to go to the Woods to answer a quiz about Sweden. Before lunch we had woodcraft class where we got to make necklaces. For lunch there was hashbrowns with lingosylt, a Swedish delicacy. Lastly we Went to Gunnes gård. Then the activities for the Day were finished.

Through going to Gunnes Gård we could really experience how people used to live, the things kids used to play with and what they ate. It really makes us Think about how privileged we are for having things like a refrigirator, a warm house and food we can just buy at the store. Things they didn`t have ,or could not get acess to so easily. Technology has really developed since then, along with humanity.

The people from slovenia probably was not used to being in a small school, because their school is bigger. The food was also different, most of the students were not used to hashbrowns, but they loved it! Both the Swedish people and slovenian felt nervous Before going to the others schools, seeing brand new people and hanging out with them. We can imagine the slovenians were a bit more nervous, since ,when arriving at the school, were tossed into a birthday party for a teacher.

But after all, it was a great day and we learnt a lot. We are looking forward to the rest of the week.
